This manual is in it`s early beginning and many pages do not have content yet.
If you would like to participate in editing the manual, register or login at Canvas and follow the "PagEd Wiki Project" link. You will then see an "Edit" link on every page.
PagEd comes along with the pagedbackend.php (place in root) which automatically generates a valid RSSFeed (v0.91) from your pages marked as NewsArticle.
(what does RSS feed stand for? -Dragonmom
- Really Simple Syndication! Create a block in Postnuke Admin/Blocks and select an RSS block. Enter the URL to a backend file on another server. The content this external file generates will show up the menu block on your own site. In the case of PagEd, the block will display the contents of the PagEd news block at the other site (only titles) with links to those articles.
You can add any kind of RSS feed in your block. Many large newspapers online have an RSS feed url for you to use.
If you want other Webmasters to syndicate your news in their own sites, you can register your site at Sydic8 (worldwide) or at RSS Verzeichnis (germany).
Tipps for a valid feed:
Writers often use HtmlTags in the PageTitle and the IngressField to get a better layout.
Don't use this feature if you want other Webmasters be able to syndicate your news!
A valid RssFeed in version 0.91 should not have this tags. Though postnuke can handle this, other programs like feedreader or rssreader are not able to show the Feed.
A feed from version 2.0 supports HtmlTags in an extra description field - but this isn't generated by PagEd at the moment.
