By version 0.931 PagEd introduced the feature that enabled you to upload and link to files of different types form within the page-editor.
From the ControlPanel - or the as usual by ftp - you can upload a file to the MediaFolder as defined in PagEd ModuleSettings.
In the page editor you can now link to this file by typing the filename in the text. PagEd will automaticly create a link to the actual file if it is in the MediaFolder.
Another way of creating automatic links is by using the ShortCuts
